Oxfam is proud to work with MIFTAH, a Palestinian organisation that promotes the principles of democracy and effective dialogue.
MIFTAH highlights and raises awareness of the Palestinian cause amongst the general public and in official circles. They adopt the mechanisms of an active and in-depth dialogue, the free flow of information and ideas, as well as local and international networking to do this.
As part of ReCIPE, MIFTAH:
- Strengthens digital rights nationally by empowering organisations to address data protection, cybersecurity and people’s online skills, an area which also includes advocating for policy reform to protect digital rights nationally.
- Amplifies Palestinian voices internationally through advocacy that highlights Israeli restrictions on Palestinian access to the internet. This includes engaging in Global Platforms and building alliances for collective advocacy.
The ReCIPE project will allow MIFTAH to highlight the censorship of Palestinian voices on digital and social media platforms. Their main aim is to give a platform to Palestinians, especially women and young people.
Through advocacy efforts, MIFTAH hope that they can influence government and corporate policies to ensure that online spaces are safe and equal. These spaces should be free from hate speech and online harassment.
“For us, digital rights are not just about connection. They are about survival, truth, and dignity.”
